Alpine skiing

Presentation

In the heart of the Jura Mountains and far from the crowds of the big areas, our ski resorts invite you to take a deep breath of fresh air and to go skiing to your heart's content! The Alpine ski slopes are waiting for you in the Haut-Doubs, spread over all levels (green and blue ones for beginners, red and black ones for those with a proper grasp of the subject) and within larger and smaller ski areas.
Métabief is the main ski area of the region: located on the Mont d'Or massif between 900 and 1430 metres (3,000-4,700 feet) above sea level, it offers a wide choice of slopes and winter activities to please everyone! The 37 kilometres (23 miles) of ski runs and the 4 fun zones will allow the whole family to learn or improve their skills in various practices such as Alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyling... and even freeriding with secure off-piste areas. There is also in this spot some sort of mini resort for children which is unique in France and where little ones enter an imaginary world and learn to ski safely in a playful way. Furthermore, 2 ski schools offer courses to help you improve your skills. The resort is however not resting on its laurels as three new cross-country trails have recently been created to add variety to the activities available in the area.

Your visit to Métabief will also be an opportunity to discover other winter sports such as snowshoeing, snowscooting, cross-country skiing or even ice-climbing. Bear in mind that there are also other human-size Alpine ski resorts in the Haut-Doubs: hidden in the middle of the vast Jura forests and its fir trees, they will be perfect for your winter sports holidays in a family setting!
